Our nascent fortress is thriving. A quick bivouac served us at first, with several essential crafts and a meager but cozy dormitory under hatch and soil.

We dwarves of the Sorcerous Mirrors have faith in our heritage and the strength of our hands. Our ambition and our love for our ancestors drive us to this place, away from the rigid, proud halls of our our peers, to show them what customs of ours still hold worth, and what our people are truly capable of.
Here we take with us a pair of the fine alpaca, loveliest of beasts, to start a herd of our own in this alpine valley. The trees are thick, stout with lumber and heavy with food. We will raise our picks to the mountain slope, and our voices to the sound of the lovely ulåb – we may be leaving behind our familiar places and ways, but we cannot live without our favorite instrument.

Mainly just testing to see if I can make a post and date it w/ the Dwarf Fortress year.
Did you know in Win 10 you can press Window + Shift + S to snip a portion of your screen? It can sometimes be tricky to get the right frame if say the dwarf you’re trying to take a picture of is standing in the same square as goose. And then you can just Ctrl+V to insert it into your post.
Another useful thing for recording info, if you set it to windowed mode text flows, though there’s only so thin you can make the window. Still viewing full screen this message was on 2 lines (well present. was on a third line)
